Hermon Baptist Chapel, 5th Feb. 2010
From the opening bars of "As long as I have music" Haverfordwest Ladies Choir and their guests kept us enthralled and entertained with music that ranged from Vaughan Williams to Phil Spector.
Haverfordwest Ladies Choir
The theme was "Love" in its many guises, romantic love; love of home, love of family, love of Man and love of God, and these loves were celebrated by songs such as "It was a lover and his lass", "Take me home", "No man is an island" and, of course, "Y cariad mawr".
The audience joined in singing the great hymn "Love Divine" and choir members Marian Graceson (mezzo-soprano) and Carol Mayhew (soprano) sang solo pieces.
Angharad Williams
The evening was graced by the accomplished violinist Angharad Williams who was joined by long-standing friend of the choir Tony Morris for some duets.
The concert was brought to a close by the choir's moving rendition of "Can't help falling in love with you"
Conductor: Dr. Nancy Mann Accompanist: Gerald Nicholas
All proceeds from the concert went to the Christian Aid Earthquake Appeal for Haiti.
