Charity Concert at the Fishguard Bay, March 2013

Haverfordwest Ladies Choir

Haverfordwest Ladies Choir was joined on Saturday 2nd March by members of Croesgoch school to take part a charity concert at the Fishguard Bay Hotel.

The concert was arranged by Fishguard and Goodwick Lions and was compèred by the highly entertaining Ifan (JCB) Davies from Carmarthenshire.

The choir, under the direction of their conductor Dr. Nancy Mann and accompanied by Gerald Nicholas, started with the well known Welsh hymn Tydi a roddaist and was joined by members of Croesgoch school in a rousing rendition of Calon Lân.

In between the choir sang pieces representing the six rugby nations including Dafydd y Garreg Wen and The Water is Wide.

Stepping outside Europe the choir was joined by Inka Lesinska on bodrhan and Jack Griffiths on bongos in a spirited African Alleluia.

Members of Croesgoch school enthralled the audience with a selection of solos and duets in song, recitation and on violin, saxophone and flute.

The ladies of the choir were delighted that the head of Croesgoch school, Jayne Evans, and their musical assistant Jane James were able to take part.
